ABOUT BUDDY BEAR
BUDDY BEAR, a South African Franchise was the very first bear building (in store) concept in South Africa, offering children and adults the opportunity of creating their own best friend through a progression of simple steps.
These include:  Choosing the bear or animal skin, (creature without stuffing)
Stuffing the bear or animal on our locally produced stuffing machines.
Adding a heart (and making a wish)
Giving him or her a voice (by inserting a voice module)
Brushing and beautifying your bear at the spa.
Weighing and measuring at the “weigh me” station

We are very proud of the exceptional quality of our teddy bears and animal skins.
In the year 2004, the factory achieved the ISO 9001:2000 accreditation, proof of commitment to quality and service.  At the same time, the factory works in accordance with the ICTI standards with special attention to social accountability issues.

With a strong belief in social development and upliftment, most of our clothing and accessories are created by local people who are well skilled in the process of manufacture.
These people benefit directly from their hard work, creating enrichment for themselves and their families.

Our MP3 bears have been a popular addition to the Buddy Bear family and the very first in the world of “Build your own MP3 bear”.
